Tinned Milk & Cheese

The tinned milk shelf covers three of the most-used ingredients in Caribbean cooking — condensed milk for sweetening, coconut milk for cooking, and Jamaican cheddar for the things only Jamaican cheddar will do.

Condensed milk goes in coffee, cornmeal porridge, peanut punch, cakes and sweet potato pudding. We stock Grace, Island Sun and Nestle in the 397g tin.

Coconut milk is what makes rice and peas taste right, and it carries curries, stews and porridge. Grace and Dunn's River both in 400ml.

Tastee Jamaican cheddar is the firm, sharp, deep-orange cheese that goes with bun. Bun and cheese is not a suggestion in a Jamaican household, it is the way it is done — and no British cheddar quite substitutes. 500g block.
